Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) is the largest community-based human and social services organization serving the Middle Eastern communities in the United States, with 40 outreach offices in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties in Michigan.  Founded in Detroit in 1979, it is a non-profit organization that, among other things, helps newcomers to the area adjust to their new environment.  ACC provides educational, employment and training, behavioral health, youth recreation & self-enrichment services, cultural activities, health services and economic revitalization.

Their behavioral health program has been accredited by the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission since 1992 and ACC was the first Arab American organization to receive that accreditation.

Recently, ACC was given a $15,000 contribution from AT&T that will support the Arab American and Chaldean Council Detroit after-school STEM program.  This program provides mentoring, tutoring and soft skills training to help high school students in underserved communities make positive life choices and persist through high school graduation. The after-school STEM program is just one of many youth service programs that ACC offers.  The entire press release is available here.

Office Express congratulates the Arab American and Chaldean Council on this grant and applauds them for the wonderful work they do in the Detroit area communities.  Please visit their website (http://www.myacc.org) to learn more about this organization.
